Stopping CVS Robocalls

Jan 23, 2020

In the past few weeks, I've received a couple of calls each day from CVS Pharmacy. I'm not sure what has changed on their end to cause these calls to start, but it has gotten annoying enough that I did some searching on how to disable them. Here's how to do it:

  1. Call 1-800-SHOP-CVS (1-800-746-7287)
  2. Say "More choices" (you may have to say this twice to get to the right menu; I did)
  3. Say "Calls"
  4. The system will confirm your phone number
  5. Say "Stop"
  6. Say "Correct"

I haven't had a prescription there in years because of this and other disrespectful customer treatment. I got on the ride through my health insurance. But they still constantly call my work number with refill "reminders" over and over.

Trying to stop it as above didn't work for me just now. "More choices" won't get it as an option any more, but "Stop calls" at the first prompt, then option 2 gets there.

Then it says something about the system not being available and transferred me to a call center. After much time wasting, she says my number is not in the system. I know it is, it's the same number they've always had and it is not forwarded there. She wanted to connect me to the pharmacy. Oh, how do you know which pharmacy if it's not in the system? But I told her no, I've wasted enough time waiting for someone to pick up the phone at that pharmacy years ago.

Got all the way to the end and AI says the phone system is not available right now and cut me off. Not happy.
